Job 42:1-2 ESV

I’ve chosen a verse from the Book of Proverbs to be our verse for 2012. To be honest, I really wasn’t looking for it. It was just there. As I was studying the parables of our Lord and trying to better understand why He would conceal things to His superficial followers and to those who outright opposed Him, I came across this verse…

Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal things, but the glory of kings is to search things out. (ESV)

This is quite a statement. He has hidden things from all of us and our God, the Almighty, is glorified by what He has hidden from us! When men hide things from us it is usually to pass themselves off as better than they really are. We call that hypocrisy. However, our God is Righteous and holy. His motives are pure. His purposes are above reproach. Think of this! The mysteries that surround Him are designed by Him to bring Him glory.

Now remember, some things are hidden from us and we will not fully understand them in this life on earth. For instance, we don’t fully understand His nature (can you explain the Trinity?) nor do we fully understand our own nature (can you explain you own heart?). In fact we don’t even fully understand nature itself—our environment (can you tell me how big the universe is?).

And so we must rely on Him. We must trust Him. And we must seek after Him. We must knock and keep on knocking if we expect things to be revealed to us. We must pursue truth. We must dig deep into His Word. Just as a scientist works to unlock the mysteries of the world around us, let’s resolve this year to know our Savior on a more intimate level than ever before. He wants you to discover more of His beauty and grace! Will you accept the challenge? I hope so. What a glorious Savior we have!

Finally, let me remind you of one more amazing truth—some things are fully revealed. Among them is His readiness to forgive and receive the worst of sinners who will repent and believe the Gospel.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (ESV)

God bless you.

About Us

We are a Southern Baptist fellowship located just South of Moscow, Tennessee. Our community of believers is made up of professionals, ranchers, farmers and small business owners. This diversity provides us the opportunity to minister to our community without barriers.

The Church has come together under the bond of love found only in the name of Jesus. Our desire is to honor the Father through the shared goal of reaching those in need with the Gospel. We regularly visit hospitals, nursing homes and the elderly, as well as share the gift of eternal life with those on our daily paths as the Holy Spirit directs.

We are committed to teaching the scriptures to our children as God's word has instructed, bringing them up in the instruction of the Lord. Our commitment to the youth of this fellowship is to provide the necessary resources to make learning rewarding and enjoyable.

We regularly fellowship as a body of believers. This fellowship includes the breaking of bread (a Baptist specialty). Church dinners and pot-lucks occasionally include recreational activities and music and always allow time for lengthy chats and story telling.

We hope that you will consider visiting us soon.
